Overweight and obese teenagers are at risk for a variety of medical problems including high blood pressure and diabetes that can follow them into adulthood. Because of their excess weight and the strain it puts on their muscles and bones, they’re also at higher risk of orthopedic problems – and not just your garden variety back strain either.
